CSR policy

Vision

Envalue contributes to a future-proof built environment by making sustainability measurable and transparent. We increase transparency in the property market and support clients in making informed investment and policy decisions.

Sustainability is an integral part of our services, knowledge development and sector engagement. Based on this conviction, we continuously invest in methodologies, data, research and innovation that contribute to a sustainable built environment.

Sustainability within our services

Envalue has a specialised Sustainability Service Line that supports clients with issues relating to sustainability, climate adaptation, biodiversity, quality of life, ESG, CSRD and future-proof property.

The Sustainability Service Line develops analytical methodologies and indices that provide insight into sustainability issues at building, portfolio and area levels. This knowledge is also applied in valuations, portfolio analyses and strategic consultancy assignments.

As part of our services, we systematically focus on:

  • Energy performance and CO₂ emissions
  • Climate risks, including waterlogging, heat, drought and flood risk
  • Biodiversity and nature-inclusive development
  • Social sustainability and quality of life
  • ESG, CSRD and EU Taxonomy-related issues
  • Future-proofing of buildings and sites
  • The relationship between sustainability, risk and property value

Sustainability Index

To incorporate sustainability into property valuations in a consistent and objective manner, Envalue has developed the Sustainability Index on its own initiative. The Sustainability Index assesses property based on a broad set of sustainability indicators, including energy performance, CO₂ emissions, biodiversity, climate risks, quality of life and social interaction. The analysis is informed by validated data sources and aligns with relevant sustainability frameworks. The Sustainability Index is included as standard in our valuations. As a result, clients gain not only an insight into a property’s market value but also an understanding of its sustainability performance, risks, potential for improvement and future value development. Through this approach, we promote the integration of sustainability into property valuations and support a forward-looking assessment of property.

Knowledge development and sector engagement

Envalue actively contributes to making the property sector more sustainable through knowledge development, research and participation in sector initiatives.

Our sustainability activities are helped to shape by Cherryl Djoegan, Head of Sustainability, who holds various roles within organisations and initiatives working to make the built environment more sustainable:

  • BuildingLife Ambassador at the Dutch Green Building Council (DGBC)
  • Member of the Supervisory Board of the C-Creators Foundation
  • Exploratory working group on ‘The Adaptive Building of the Future’ at the Bouwcampus, TU Delft
  • Member of the Steering Group for Sustainability Paragraph 2.0, focused on the further integration of sustainability into property valuations and appraisals

Through these roles, we contribute to the development of market standards, knowledge sharing and innovation within the property sector. In addition, we regularly publish research, market analyses and vision documents on sustainability, climate adaptation, biodiversity, quality of life and the relationship between sustainability and property value. These publications contribute to knowledge development within the sector and support clients in addressing current sustainability issues.

Corporate Responsibility

Corporate responsibility forms an integral part of our organisational culture and day-to-day operations. Envalue puts this into practice by:

  • Operating and maintaining an all-electric vehicle fleet
  • Making efficient use of office space within a shared working environment
  • Making structural investments in training, knowledge development and professional expertise
  • Providing a safe, inclusive and professional working environment
  • Ensuring data quality, privacy and information security
  • Providing transparent, independent and ethical services

These principles are set out in the Envalue Guide. Every employee endorses these principles upon joining the company. The content is reviewed annually by Envalue’s Leadership Team and updated where necessary.
